Katherine Stone, Founder & CEO Postpartum Progress, Inc.
After a devastating bout with postpartum depression after the birth of her first child, Katherine Stone created the award winning, internationally recognized website PostpartumProgress.com in 2004 to raise awareness and give mothers the most comprehensive and honest information and support for maternal mental illness. PostpartumProgress.com is now the most widely read blog in the world (2.6 million pageviews in 2015) on postpartum depression and all other mental illnesses related to pregnancy and childbirth. To expand on that work, in 2011 Katherine founded Postpartum Progress Inc. (http://postpartumprogress.org), a national nonprofit focused on raising awareness and providing peer support for women with maternal mental illness.
Katherine has received numerous awards for her maternal mental health advocacy work. In 2016 she was named by Working Mother magazine as one of the top 20 Social Media moms, alongside such luminaries as author JK Rowling, Chelsea Clinton, Priscilla Chan Zuckerberg and Christy Turlington. In 2012, she was named one of the fiercest women in America as part of More magazine’s annual Fierce List, and in she was chosen as a WebMD Health Hero in 2008. She won an Iris Award in 2014 and in 2016 for quality and excellence in parenting blogging and social media influence.
